Curriculum Development
Curricula are built upon the prescribed syllabi.Being an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta, it cannot develop any curriculum on its own even if it desires.It has to follow the same syllabus as prepared by the University.The college may at best assess the requirement of teaching time, choice of faculty, collection of feedback from students and alumni plan of teaching learning strategies, lab work, field work, educational excursion etc.Such curriculum development is reflected in our Academic calendar and prospectus.

Vision, Mission & Goal

The Vision of BANGABASI MORNING COLLEGE is to preserve and promote the academic excellance and uphold the true meaning and significance of the three lofty ideals enunciated in the College monogram –“ PRANIPATENA,PARIPRASHNENA,SEVAYA”-by reverence by Questioning and by service can one persue the true end of knowledge.On the other hand,the Mission of the College is to carry forward the torch of educational and spread it amongst those who suffer under the curse of poverty which implies to impart education to those poor students who can afford to pay for higher education.

The goals and objectives of the college are to enkindle the light of knowledge particularly amongst the poorer section of the society by opening new subjects of study and vocational courses to equip themselves for self employment by inculating the rich heritage of “Bangabasi Group of Colleges “with patriotic Zeal and national enthusiasm so that everyone of them becomes a “true man with social commitment” in the society.Such noble goals and objectives are diffused through lectures by the Principal ,teacher ,non-teaching staff and senior students of the Students Union in and assembly of new first year students on the very first day when new academic session commences.

Keeping in touch with the rich tradition of excellence which is diffused through generation of students ,it has completed its splendid existence of more than forty years as an independent institution.Since its inception as a self completed college in 1965,it has been continuing a steady advancement in the academic pursuit through opening of new subjects in the emerging areas of different disciplines and introduction of Honours Courses in different faculties of Arts ,Science and Commerce.

Governing Body
Ultimate decision making body of the college is the Governing Body consists of President, Principal/Secretary, three representatives from substantive teaching posts, one representative from substantive non-teaching staff, two nominated members from C.U., (out of which, one is a female member) and two Govt nominees, Govt. of West Bengal, one State Council nominee, Govt.of West Bengal.

Principal’s Desk
Principal as the head of the Institution is a friend, philosopher and guide as well as team leader of the college.He is ever agile regarding academic and general administration.he develops close relationship with the teacher, non-teaching staff,students,Secretary T.C., President and other members of the Governing Body. He chalk out the all-round development plan of the college infrastructure,extension,academic and administration,place proposal before the governing body for approval and convince all corners to implement the decisions adopted in the GB to forge ahead by taking leading role.
At the same time, he is regular,morally sound ,disciplined democratic and sympathetic.He gives patient hearing to all problems brought before him by different corners of the college and try to resolve them amicably by opening dialogue if they are within his capacity. Apart from that he follows all the duties assigned by Clause 103, sub-clause (5) of the Calcutta University first statutes 1979.
